Job Function

Serve the underserved with like-minded people! Waco Family Medicine is a large Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Central Texas with 15 locations offering a wide range of services.  We pride ourselves on a strong commitment to equitable, evidence-based holistic medical, dental and behavioral healthcare. Our community health center is a designated Patient Centered Medical Home, coordinating a robust collaborative of community health partnership (wellness center, prescription produce program, teaching kitchen, medical legal partnership). In addition to in-house pharmacy, WFM provides a sizeable network of in-house specialty service clinics (HIV, Hep C, Sports Medicine, Surgery, Cardiology, Rheumatology, Dermatology, Wound Care). Through these various programs, we offer comprehensive, affordable primary care to patients across a broad range of demographics. Our passion is to facilitate whole person health and wellness for our patients and community.

We are seeking candidates whose professional goals are to achieve equitable health outcomes. Our patient population of 60,000 patients is 24% African American, 43% Latin American with 20% Spanish-speaking.  We are also deeply committed to the health and well-being of our clinicians and staff. We are focused on reducing burnout, fostering joy in work, and building community and resilience throughout our system and across departments. We work actively to foster a culture of innovation and collaboration and are eager to welcome new staff who share our vision and our goals.

We have been an Epic shop since 1991. We are small for an Epic client, but that provides the opportunity for agility, simpler governance, and a deeper hands-on experience in an organization that understands the value of and need for informatics.  Our ACGME Accredited Applied Clinical Informatics fellowship started in 2021.

Waco— a vibrant city of over 130K — is a friendly, affordable gem located along the Brazos River. Dallas Fort Worth or Austin are less than two hours away by car! Nature lovers have easy access to the beautiful countryside of Central Texas, area lakes for world-class fishing and water sports, and our 416-acre Cameron Park located in the heart of the city.
