Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSummary: The Health Informatics Nurse serves as the clinical expert supporting the integration of nursing practice, information technology, and data analytics to improve patient care, clinical workflows, and organizational outcomes. This role collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to optimize electronic health record (EHR) systems, implement clinical technologies, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote evidence-based practice through the effective use of health information systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned.
· Collaborate with nursing, clinical, operational, and information technology teams to optimize electronic health record (EHR) functionality and clinical workflows.
· Analyze clinical processes and recommend technology solutions that improve efficiency, patient safety, quality outcomes, and user satisfaction.
· Participate in the planning, design, implementation, testing, and ongoing optimization of clinical information systems.
· Provide education, training, and ongoing support to clinicians regarding health information technologies and clinical applications.
· Develop, maintain, and update clinical documentation standards, order sets, workflows, and decision-support tools.
· Monitor system performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and assist with troubleshooting clinical system issues.
· Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, HIPAA, and documentation standards.
· Collect, analyze, and interpret clinical data to support quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, and performance metrics.
· Collaborate with quality, compliance, finance, and operational leaders to support organizational initiatives and regulatory reporting.
· Participate in system upgrades, software testing, change management, and implementation of new technologies.
· Serve as a liaison between clinical staff and information technology teams to ensure clinical needs are accurately represented in system design and functionality.
· Promote evidence-based practice and continuous process improvement through the effective use of healthcare technology and data.
